Currently, if a staff member makes a billing error & collects a client signature, and then we correct the billing error (by perhaps adding or deleting a billing code) we lose the client signature that was collected for part of the appointment. It would be great if client signatures weren't lost in this way - perhaps the signature could be associated with the appointment as a whole instead of the individual timesheets on that appointment.
I realize we can add a client signature field to the session note template, however we have staff members that work in some environments where collecting a client signature on a daily basis isn't possible (e.g. - no wifi access in session location, session is in a busy classroom environment) and so the client signature feature on timesheets allow these staff members to go back & collect signatures for sessions they've already converted so they can collect signatures less frequently if that's necessary. Enforcing daily conversion keeps things running smoothly for us (billing/payroll/timely session note review) so we do want them to be able to convert daily but collect client signatures less frequently if their session location/environment makes that necessary. So, the client signature on timesheets has fit in well for us for these reasons, I just don't want to lose any signatures that staff collect if billing is corrected down the line. :)
I'm late to the party but as most of you know this has been out for some time now.

I think if a signature is obtained and a change is made then in the activity log it would show the initial appointment, the signature then the change. So this could prevent fraud.

Mike, I see where you are coming from, and agree that there is potential for fraud (employees adding additional time to an appointment). Perhaps when modifications are made after the signature is collected there could be a note that describes changes made after the signature was collected alongside the signature (I think in most cases this would make fraud fairly obvious). Perhaps the ability to preserve the signature when changes are made would only be available to billing administrators. I think there is a need here, but also see any changes will need to be made with caution!

Also updating the units used on the authorization. I do this a lot with a lot of our payers that don't allow overlapping billing.

i can see this need as being per CR customer, but if this is implemented, there would need to be a setting in the admin account to either let this happen or not. this could lead to someone adding time or services to a timesheet after the signature is collected, which defeats the purpose of collecting the signature

Or at least the option to keep signature or remove it.
