The current process requires us to keep employee on our active list up to 30 past their last day. It would make sense to even pay inactive employees that have hours recorded.
Not sure what state your in, but CA law you have to pay the employee on their last day. So this would actually be illegal waiting to pay the payroll hours until the next run (if it does not fall on their last day). Just FYI in case you are in CA or the state you are in has the same laws :).
